3. Select the image from the desktop library which you want to edit.

4. Once the image opens in Adobe Photoshop and appears on the screen, click on the Window button at the right side of the menu bar.

5. Select Layers option from the drop-down menu to make it appear in the menu bar. Skip this if it is already present there.

6. Click on Layer from the menu bar and select New Fill Layer > Solid Color.

7. Now, click on the Color drop-down menu and select the color you want to put as background.

8. Click on OK after you finish.

9. Now click and hold on the New layer icon at the bottom right corner of the screen. Drag it until it is above the “Background” layer option then release the hold.

10. Finally, click on Layer from the menu bar and select Merge Down from the drop menu. That’s it, the color you chose should now be the background layer.
